Psalm 91: A Remix for Today’s Bride of Christ

Psalm 91 is my favorite out of all 150 psalms! It is strategically placed in the middle of the Bible, so it’s easy to find. The author is “anonymous,” as is the case for most of the psalms contained in Book Four. Moses or King David may have been contributors. This psalm speaks to most any situation where you need encouragement. It’s been my “go-to” in trying times! The following is a “remix” of Psalm 91 with today’s Bride of Christ in mind.

She who sits down in His Holy Hill – taking dominion and authority from this vantage point or position of victory – will live under the protective covering of her God.

I will say of the Lord: He is my sanctuary, the one I run to and in whom I place all my confidence.

This God will rescue you from the entrapment of the enemy and from the coming Days of Evil. He will hide you in His heart, where you can feel safe and secure. The truth that He speaks will be your banner and first line of defense.

You will not tremble in the presence of darkness, nor when bullets whiz by day, nor in pandemics that threaten your health, nor in terrorist activities in broad daylight.

Angry demons will scatter at your word, a legion will be dispelled by your right hand; but none shall attach themselves to you.

Because you’ve chosen the Captain of the Hosts – who is My Knight in Shining Armor – even the King of Kings as your constant companion, no enemy shall overtake you, nor shall any siege come near your home; for He (Jehovah-Jireh) shall send His ministers of fire to watch over and protect you wherever you go. They will clear the path before you, removing all obstacles so that you do not stumble or fall.

You shall overtake a lion in a pit on a snowy day, even cobras will slither away. The menacing roars and lying tongues of the accuser, you shall silence with one strategic stomp of your foot.

Her loving affections compel me to free her from all restraints, to place her out of harm’s way. My ear listens for her sweet voice to call My Name. When I hear her cry for My help, I leap to her defense and shout with a loud voice.

She is My Beloved. She is My Bride, My Queen. I will grace her with a full and eternally satisfying life, and show her the rewards of My Redemption.
